The Planetary Family

Julia Butterfly

Circle of Life operates from a deep belief in the interdependence and interconnection of all life. Our commitment is to transform the way humans interact with the Earth and with all living beings.
Circle of Life is a stand for peace, justice and environmental sustainability; and in that space, we create powerful events and meaningful opportunities for people and organizations to make a difference in the world we share.
Now is a pivotal time, where it is necessary for us to develop a comprehensive and solid plan on how to take Circle of Life to the next level of efficiency and effectiveness in our work in the world. It is a time where we are choosing to temporarily conserve our resources and go through a restructuring process, which will ultimately allow an even more vibrant, focused and powerful Circle of Life to emerge.

In order to effectively go through this process, we will be scaling back much of our services and operations during this time. We recognize that in the short term this will impact those who rely upon us for connection to resources of information, inspiration, and community and we apologize for any inconvenience this might create. Yet in the long term, we are confident that this is what is needed to reach many more people even more effectively than ever.

As we look to nature as our constant teacher and guide, we know that everything in nature has cycles, which allow it to remain in balance, harmony, and healthy growth. Winter is the time of conserving energy and drawing energy back in, pruning of what needs to be let go of, and preparing for the new growth opportunities that come forth in the spring. Without the wintertime, there is not the possibility of the vibrant new growth that spring offers. We are in flow with nature’s cycles as we take this time to mirror and reflect nature’s lessons. We are excited by the possibility of what is going to emerge through this process and remain committed to doing all we do with integrity, love, inspiration, and connection.

Our website has great ideas and resources on how to be a powerful change agent in your daily life, community, and world. Also on the website is a link to the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

And as always, remember that beyond a shadow of a doubt, you, yes you, make the difference. Through every thought, word, and action; through deep listening, learning, and commitment to growing integrity, love, and joy in our lives and in the world, we create healing, compassion, and connection in our world. And, we are not alone. We are a part of a planetary family, and as our Associate Director, Amira Diamond says, “We really are the ones being a stand for true family values.”

Here is to learning, letting go, and new growth opportunities for us all. Here at Circle of Life, we have been doing quite a bit of work to look at how best to leverage the incredible opportunity presented by the forthcoming film, Luna, expected to be released in 2007.

In loving, joyous, service,
